Complete Lectionary-Based Worship Services for Sundays in the Church Year

By Philip Garside

Easter 3-6 | 4-25 May 2025

Whole month of May 2025

About this month's material

Easter 3 | 4 May 2025
In our readings from Acts 9:1–20 and John 21:1–19 we see in Saul and Peter, two people confronted by grace in ways that undo their certainty and invite a new beginning.

These stories show us that real change takes courage, vision often comes through disruption, and God's call sometimes begins where we feel most lost.

Easter 4 | 11 May 2025
Explore how Tabitha’s resurrection in Acts 9:36–43 and Jesus’ words in John 10:22–30 reveal the power of faith expressed through loving action.

We will highlight that true discipleship involves not only belief but tangible works of compassion and that those who follow Jesus are held securely in God’s love.

And we will affirm that divine power continues to work through ordinary people, and that nothing – not even death – can separate us from that enduring love.

Easter 5 | 18 May 2025
Today we hear two powerful readings – from Acts 11:1–18, where Peter explains his bold welcome of outsiders, and from Revelation 21:1–6, which offers a vision of God’s home among us.

Our theme is Spirit-led change – how God’s grace disrupts our expectations and invites us to welcome the unfamiliar with courage and hope.

May we open our hearts to where the Spirit is already moving in our lives and in our church.

Easter 6 | 25 May 2025

Today we’ll hear from Acts 16:9-15 and John 5:1-9 – two very different stories where faith takes a bold step forward.

In Acts, Paul follows a vision to a riverside and meets Lydia, a wealthy, independent woman whose heart opens to the Gospel and whose home becomes a sanctuary for the early church.

In John, Jesus meets a man paralysed for 38 years and cuts through despair with words that heal and liberate – reminding us that faith means not waiting for perfect conditions, but rising up when grace calls.
