Description

Meet Alice, a joyful 6-year-old girl from Aotearoa New Zealand who teaches young readers about aroha—the Māori word for love—through her daily experiences.

Alice expresses love by using her body to climb trees, run, and ride her bike. She delights in the feel of soft cat fur and cool water, the sight of twinkling stars and colourful books, and the sounds of birds singing and her friends’ laughter. Through Alice’s experiences, children will discover the wonders of their own senses and the joy of simple moments.

Alice also loves the delicious smells of flowers, biscuits, and perfume, as well as the tastes of ice cream, apricots, and salmon bagels. She shares how special festivals like Matariki, Christmas, and Easter bring people together with food and love.

Grounded in Christian teachings, Alice introduces young readers to Jesus’ message of kindness, inclusion, and love. She reminds children to care for one another, especially those who experience the world differently. At bedtime, she encourages restful sleep so that everyone can wake up ready to love again.

Through engaging storytelling and sensory exploration, Love All That is Good: The Senses inspires children to embrace aroha, connect with nature, and celebrate life’s simple joys.
