Let customers speak for us
from 18 reviewsAnne Manchester's book Peace is Her Song (2024) enables us to understand Shirley Murray's motivation, method, style and gifts as an ecumenically and globally recognised hymn writer - a comprehensive assessment of this outstanding kiwi poet who points to paths for liturgical and theological renewal.

So user friendly! So insightful. Just what I needed.
The purpose in purchasing the book was to use it through the year at our Reflections group which meets weekly. We found it thoughtful and helpful as we followed the material during Advent and Christmas . And now will continue into Epiphany and New Year. Joy’s inspirational New Years Blessing would be perfect for our New Year’s resolution (but not discarded after a short time.)
The large numbers of devotional material for special times and commemorations will also be useful as many events celebrated in our part of the world are included. This is an excellent resource both for public and personal devotions.

Great book which made a wonderful gift for an organist friend.
Beautifully prepared. A wonderful guide book with spiritual guidance.
This is a long overdue and beautifully produced guidebook to 100 pilgrimage sites around Aotearoa New Zealand. Written with a pilgrim's heart, John Hornblow and Jenny Boyack invite us to discover and explore the rich spiritual heritage we have in our own backyard - all the way from Northland to Stewart Island and including the Chatham Islands, too! As well as providing an overview and directions, there are reflections and links for further information to enhance your experience of each place. With an introduction to pilgrimage, a comprehensive glossary, a bibliography, and beautifully illustrated throughout, this is everything a pilgrim guidebook should be and a real gift in every sense of the word.
I purchased two for Christmas presents. One for our vicar at Holy Trinity Gore. The other for the new Anglican Bishop of Otago/Southland.
What a wonderful resource! Familiar and not-so-familiar sites to be (re-)visited but this time with easy-to-access reference material to provide key information beforehand.
Excellent in openness and encouragement. Already used quotes in public speaking and motivation.
I was very pleased to receive it thank you. As yet I have not explored it
Very useful for me as a youth group leader
It was a pleasure to read this thoughtful, quite comprehensively researched book celebrating Shirley Erana Murray's life and legacy.
This book is an important tribute to Shirley Erena Murray, one of the most significant and prolific of modern hymn writers, Anne Manchester writes with clarity honouring Shirley with a beautifully written, well organised and set out book.It highlights Shirley's deep understanding of the issues facing Aotearoa and the importance of peace as a gift to a troubled world.
Easy to read, contemporary, lovely words, relevant to us in NZ.
